Zarkili — Booking for solo nail artists

The Story

My daughter Zara is a solo nail artist in Europe. For years she managed her bookings through Instagram DMs and Google Calendar. She was spending more time chasing messages and handling double-bookings than she was doing nails.

In 2025 I built her a custom booking app: a calendar she controls, a client list, and a simple way for clients to book themselves in. It went live at zara-nails-salon.web.app. She has 130 clients on it now and hasn't looked back.

That experience made me wonder: how many other solo nail artists are stuck managing bookings through tools that were never designed for them? Before building anything new, I want to find out.

What It Is

The v1 concept is simple: a booking app designed from the ground up for one artist working alone. A calendar she controls, a client list with notes, loyalty tracking, and appointment reminders — none of the multi-location overhead that makes salon platforms feel wrong when you're the only person there.
